The Budokan Karate Club has been established at the University of New South Wales for more than 30 years. It is one of the oldest and the most successful university karate clubs in Australia. Our Chief Instructor, Sensei Chris Wong, has over 20 years of experience teaching at the club.
The Budokan karate style focuses on the entire body which means our techniques involve both kicking and punching in both an aggressive and a defensive manner. As such, you will get a complete work out doing Karate with us.
Our club is aimed at all types of people interested in Karate. Our members are made up of roughly equal numbers of males and females, ranging from those who have absolutely no experience all the way up to seasoned Black Belt fighters.
We have adult (18 yo +) classes on Tuesday and Thursday nights, and welcome UNSW students, staff and members of the general public. Sorry, we don't have children's classes.
