Aikido is a self-defensive martial art, which has no kicks or punches. Aikido utilises nerve-holds, throws, take-downs and hold-downs to neutralise any aggressive action against you. Aikido uses oblique angles, pressure points, and off-bablancing techniques to neutralise any aggressive action. Therefore, when performing Aikido, no great physical strength is required. This makes Aikido very universal, especially suitable to women, children, and people who are not gifted with great muscular or physical strength.
Paul Araki-Metcalfe Sensei is the Founder and Chief Instructor, and currently a 5th Dan black Belt (Godan). His rank is officially registered with Aikikai International headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.
